Tottenham have signed midfielder Victor Wanyama from Southampton for a fee of around £11 million.
The 24-year-old Kenyan completed a medical earlier this week and has agreed a five-year deal at White Hart Lane.
Spurs
manager Mauricio Pochettino signed Wanyama for Southampton in a £12
million deal from Celtic in July 2013 and he is the first player to be
reunited with the Argentine in North London — although Toby Alderweireld
joined Spurs last summer after spending a season on loan at St. Mary’s
from Atletico Madrid.
Saints blocked Spurs’ attempts to sign
Wanyama, who is the first Kenyan to represent Spurs, last summer but
reluctantly agreed to sell the player, who had one year remaining on his
contract.
