Gunmen kidnap INEC staff in Bayelsa

 

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Bayelsa State has confirmed the abduction of ‎its staff at Otuasega town in Ogbia local government area of the state with the kidnappers demanding N20m ransom.

The commission’s Head of Department, Voters Education/Publicity, Mr. Timidi Wariowei, identified the victim, as Davies Eldred, head of Head of Department, Gener‎al Administration and Procurement.

Wariowei, who disclosed this Friday night in Yenagoa said the victim was ‎kidnapped on Tuesday at his Otuasega residence at about 8pm and whisked away to an unknown destination.

His words: “The commission received the sad news of the abduction of Mr Davis Eldred, Head of Department, General Administration and Procurement on Tuesday 28th June 2016.

“He was abducted from his house at Otuasega town around 20:00hrs.”
