'This is tight!' Katy Perry celebrates becoming the most-followed person ever on Twitter with 90 million followers.

She rules the Twitter-verse! The 31-year-old singer has become the most-followed person on Twitter ever

While the Kardashians may rule Instagram, there's one social media site where Katy Perry slays.
The 31-year-old singer has just become the most-followed person on Twitter ever .
Katy retweeted the announcement from Twitter's official account on Friday, which stated:'It’s party time, @katyperry! With 90 million on the guest list, we’re gonna need a really big dance floor ❤️.'
The gravitas of the moment didn't escape Katy, who commented: 'Dang this is tight.'
That means the star has nearly doubled
Kim Kardashian's 46.3 million followers, and casts considerable shade on Justin Bieber's impressive but not quite there 83.9 million. Katy's nemesis Taylor Swift has 79 million followers on her account.
Her fans - known as KatyCats - were quick to join in the celebrations - with one even suggesting all 90 million should have a slumber party at Katy's house.
While another simply defined her as the 'Queen of Twitter'.
The Firework hitmaker joined Twitter in February 2009 and has posted nearly 7,000 tweets to date.
The superstar also made internet history when her music video for Dark Horse became the first video by a female artist to reach 1 billion views on Vevo. The following month, her music video for Roar reached 1 billion views on Vevo, making her the first artist to have multiple videos with 1 billion views.
But after initially celebrating her record milestone on social media, tweeting 'This is tight', Katy went on to inform her 90 million followers that she was at a loose end at the start of the July 4th holiday weekend.
'Every1 else havin a lit Friday night & I'm here examining the nose pore cleaner strip I just peeled off & I must say, nothing can top this,' she tweeted.

Unlike many who boost their accounts by following a lot of people themselves, Katy - who is dating Orlando Bloom - only finds it necessary to follow 160 people on her Twitter account.
Those Katy follows include Hillary Clinton - of whom she has been a vocal supporter - as well as singer Sam Smith, rapper Iggy Azalea, and the Dalai Lama.
Unsurprisingly, her ex-husband Russell Brand is not one of those she keeps up with via Twitter.
