While the Kardashians may rule Instagram, there's one social media site where Katy Perry slays.
The 31-year-old singer has just become the most-followed person on Twitter ever .
Katy
retweeted the announcement from Twitter's official account on Friday,
which stated:'It’s party time, @katyperry! With 90 million on the guest
list, we’re gonna need a really big dance floor ❤️.'
The gravitas of the moment didn't escape Katy, who commented: 'Dang this is tight.'
That means the star has
nearly doubled
Kim Kardashian's 46.3 million followers, and casts
considerable shade on Justin Bieber's impressive but not quite there
83.9 million. Katy's nemesis Taylor Swift has 79 million followers on
her account.
Unlike many
who boost their accounts by following a lot of people themselves, Katy -
who is dating Orlando Bloom - only finds it necessary to follow 160
people on her Twitter account.
Those
Katy follows include Hillary Clinton - of whom she has been a vocal
supporter - as well as singer Sam Smith, rapper Iggy Azalea, and the
Dalai Lama.
Unsurprisingly, her ex-husband Russell Brand is not one of those she keeps up with via Twitter.
